"The launch of flights follows the normalisation of diplomatic ties between the two nations, and the signing of the Abraham Accords between the UAE and Israel," said Etihad Airlines on November 16, announcing that flights would begin March 28, 2016. The airline, based in Abu Dhabi is one of several now announcing flights from Israel to the Gulf. FlyDubai landed in Israel for the first time on November 8. It is doing two flights a day. Reports said that Etihad had conducted its first flight in October and that the regular schedule will start in 2021. It will be to "the economic and technological center of Israel."
