IAI to take part in IDEX in Abu Dhabi February 2021

Updated: Jan 12, 2021

Israel Aerospace Industries will take part in the upcoming IDEX international defense exhibition in Abu Dhabi in February. IAI is one of Israel's most important companies and works in various realms, including aerospace and defense. Its subsidiary ELTA is a pathbreaker in radar. It is the first time IAI will take part and this comes in the wake of the Abraham Accords. IDEX is taking place in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre - ADNEC in Abu Dhabi from February 21-25, 2021. IDEX describes itself as the "only international defence exhibition and conference in the Middle East and North Africa region demonstrating the latest technology across land, sea and air." ISDEF in Israel is playing a key role in the unprecedented turnout that Israelis will have at the upcoming event. Around 32 companies from Israel appear to be already registered.

There are an estimated 1,300 exhibitors from 60 countries scheduled to arrive. Some 70,000 may see the venues.

IAI has said in previewing its role at other exhibitions, such as in India, that it is a "globally recognized leader in the development and production of systems and services for the defense and commercial markets. IAI provides unique solutions for a broad spectrum of requirements in space, air, land, sea and cyber domains." IAI also says it has been operating and selling advanced defense products to the Indian ministry of Defense and other government organizations for the past 25 years, "through a strategic partnership that spans many areas. Through the years IAI established subcontracting, cooperation agreements and joint ventures with numerous Indian companies and expanded its operation and cooperation with military branches, navy and air force, coast guard, border security and other agencies."

IAI announced on January 5 that it had successfully tested its MRSAM it is working on with India. "MRSAM, Air & Missile Defense Systems jointly developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), ISRAEL & DRDO India was successfully tested last week at a test range in India. MRSAM is an advanced path breaking air and missile defense system that provides ultimate protection against a variety of aerial platforms. It is used by the Indian Air Force, Army Force, Indian Navy and Israeli Defense Forces. The system includes an Advanced Phased Array Radar, Command and Control, Mobile Launchers and interceptors with advanced RF Seeker."
