Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, Jerusalem’s Deputy Mayor and Ashley Perry discuss Mizrahi heritage and peace

In several new articles Fleur Hassan-Nahoum, Jerusalem’s Deputy Mayor and co-founder of the UAE Business Council stressed new ways that peace would be achieved with the Gulf. In one article she was quoted as discussing how it will support Jerusalem. If we open a high-tech park with investments from the Emirates, we can develop Eastern Jerusalem, to be an R&D hub in the Middle East...allowing the combination of Israeli ingenuity, Arab-speakers, and [advantage of Israel being] the start-up nation, can be a fantastic platform for peace with the Emirates," she states. In The Jerusalem Post they both discussed how Mizrahi and Sephardi heritage will be a bridge to peace. Ashley Perry has been campaigning for years for more recognition and commemoration of the heritage of Jews from the region. He is now CEO of the Heritage Center for Middle East and North Africa Jewry. “The idea is a center chronicling the history of Mizrahi Jewry,” he explained. Read the full report.
